Introduction

There are many reasons to use a programmer or programming team on your project. Each brings years of experience and enthusiasm to any project. A good programmer will make a project pleasurable – miraculously translating your Success Map into a live, running program.

If you’ve decided that you want to bring in a third-party to put your software project together, I want to give you some pointers on how to make this happen without getting “screwed”.

Experience has shown that there is apprehension when using a programmer or programming team. Questions you might ask include:

  • How do I pick the right one? What criteria do I use?
  • What kinds of questions should I ask – so that I know that they can “walk-the-walk”?
  • How do I ensure the project is completed on time?
  • And on budget?
  • How do I ensure it’s as bug-free as possible?
  • What else am I missing?

We’ll talk about these questions in a moment. Let’s look at finding the right person or people first.
