Introduction

In this chapter, we’ll talk about the type of supporting website that we’ll use as our silent salesperson and on-going support team.

If you aren’t web-savvy and don’t feel confident that you can build your own site, use the same techniques you used in finding a programming team to find a savvy web designer to build your site. (Again, try eLance!)

Your site reflects the quality of the software. If the site looks sloppy or quickly thrown together, your potential customers subconsciously will assume your software is not far off the mark.

Keep the quality high. Make sure that the site loads quickly. Ensure that it works reasonable well in most browsers. Walk through all the links and find links that are broken – do this on a regular basis.

Keep in mind – just as with the software – spend time planning what you want on the website.
